The +24 dB and +48 dB input gain on Moku:Lab is implemented purely digitally. It is designed to reduce quantization error when the FPGA performs the calculation. We recommend using the maximum possible input gain that does not saturate the input signal. Please note the built-in probe points have a fixed bit depth. The quantization error may be exaggerated in the built-in oscilloscope. The underlying calculations may be performed at higher precision.
