The Dynamic amplitude setting in the Frequency Response Analyzer is a powerful tool that allows you to get the most accurate frequency response of your device under test (DUT). When using the frequency response analyzer, the signal going to your DUT should usually have the largest amplitude possible to ensure that you have a high resolution curve. However, when the signal is too high, the DUT can go into saturation, but when the signal is too low, the curve will have poor resolution and be inundated with noise. The dynamic amplitude setting will dynamically reduce the amplitude of the Moku output to prevent your DUT from going into saturation, while giving you the most high resolution curve possible. 

Saturation is when the output of your DUT stops responding to increases in the input. Ideally, the output of the DUT will respond proportionally to changes in the input. When the DUT is in saturation, the output will remain constant, independent of any increases at the input. This results in your frequency response curve being inaccurate and therefore invalidates your results.

The dynamic amplitude setting will never increase the maximum voltage set by the user, only lower the signal when the Moku detects saturation occurring. This allows the user to set the signal amplitude as high as possible, ensuring a clear curve, without worrying about the DUT entering saturation. 

To use this setting, open up the frequency response analyzer on your Moku. Navigate to the settings tab on the right side and turn on the Dynamic amplitude.
